This year the RC Repair shop sponsored a 1/8 scale nitro buggy to participate in the local nitro races and we’ve loved every minute of it. Always having that curiosity… “wonder what this looks like from above” prompted me to photograph a few of these local tracks we race on.

The first track is also known as the “Church Track” by the Colorado Springs RC Community. This track is located at Dublin / Powers in the Church of All Nations parking lot (north side). Since this photo was taken they have finished the driver stand and pit lane and have even hosted their 1st race!

The second track we took aerial photos of is Dusty Trails Raceway in Pueblo, Colorado. The track is located around Purcell and Hwy 50 (Pueblo West) and is located in Ken’s backyard. This track has all the amenities we look for; good lighting, consistent watering structure, AMBrc timing system, high driver stand with well thought out pit area, etc… This has definitely been one of our favorite tracks this year and one to check out if you want to not only race, but have a blast doing it.

Here is somre more information about the event:

The 10th Annual Jefco Helicopter Day will be held May 15, 2010, at Chatfield Reservoir Colorado State Park. The Jefco AeroMod’lers present their world-class RC Flying Field for this special event. Landing donation for the event is $20.00 for non-members, only $10.00 for Jefco AeroMod’lers or Colorado Rotor-Heads members. A FREE Lunch will be provided for all registered participants. Pilot check-in begins at 8:30 AM (the field will be open at 7:00 AM for flying). There will be plenty of door prizes in our drawing. There will be open flying throughout the day, plus fun fly style events until 5:00 PM. The 2009 Fun Fly was fantastic, with 37 pilots, 100+ spectators and 80+ helicopters on display. Helicopter pilots of any skill level and spectators are welcome to attend. AMA membership is required for all pilots. We hope to see you there!

Well it’s been a little over a year since I updated and a lot has changed with Rocky Mountain AP. The biggest change for us was moving into DSLR camera bodies. See our equipment page, but this meant upgrading our lifting capacity with an 800mm bladed helicopter. This will also allow us the ability to carry High Definition camcorders, which we are currently in the process of testing. As the technology grows so will the services we are able to offer our customers. Thank you for making this past 1.5 years a great success story and we look forward to continuing to delight our customers with great aerial photographs!
